Gelderland is the largest province of the Netherlands. It holds the largest national park of the Netherlands, De Veluwe, and the largest fruit production area (Betuwe). Major rivers, such as Rhine (Rijn) and Waal run through it. The landscape of Gelderland is commonly divided in three parts: the northern area is De Veluwe, the southern area Rivierenland (Land of rivers) and the eastern area is de Achterhoek (litterly: Back Corner). Main cities in order of population size are Apeldoorn, Nijmegen, Arnhem (regional capital). The 7th largest town is Zutphen.
