Gävle & Gästrike
Gävleborg in central Sweden, named after the main city and regional capital Gävle, is the province of two worlds: the region Gästrike and the region Hälsingland. Officially the southern tip of Norrland (Swedens northern half), Gävleborg is never considered so by other Norrlanders. Gästrike is the area where the first largely available Swedish whisky was born, in Mackmyra Bruk.
